What is a Blessing Bowl?
Simply put, Blessing Bowls are handcrafted bowls that
were
designed with the intention to be a sacred place for notes of
gratitude, love, hopes and wishes.
Blessing Bowls are the perfect gift to give
for graduation, wedding,
wedding anniversary, First Communion, Confirmation, birthday or
to celebrate the birth of a baby.
Some ideas for using the Blessing Bowl;
One of my customers brought a Blessing Bowl for her daughters
baby shower. The Grandma-to-be, invited everyone who attended to
write down her hopes and or wish for the new baby's life.
A wonderful legacy was created that day for the new baby. Through
out that person's life, he or she will be able to re-read and be reaffirmed
by all the love, hopes and wishes that flowed from the hearts of all who
gathered that day to celebrate "new life".
My Blessing Bowl sits on
an antique table in my living room. Every night
before I go to bed, I write down one good thing that happened to me
during the day. When my grandchildren come by, they write a love
note to me, they fold it carefully up, and with a twinkle in their eye,
they place it so carefully in my bowl with the admonishment not to
read it unit it's "time". Over the course of the year, the slips of
papers
begin to spill over, but that's okay, it's a visual of just how blessed I am.
On New Years Eve (the "time" my grandchildren reference) during the
last
hour or so of the old year, I sit with my Blessing Bowl and all of its contents
reviewing just how special the passing year was and how many blessings
I enjoyed throughout it. When I'm finished, I say a "Thank You" to the
old year and move on with a heart full of gratitude to greet the New Year!
